We are very excited to have Ulaganathan Sivagnanam join the lab as a postdoc! Nathan will use structural and biochemical methods to unravel the molecular mechanisms of fungal zinc scavenging. 

First international meeting for the Syrjänen lab! Johanna presented work on the structural characterisation of the C.albicans zincophore protein in this meeting. 

We are so excited to have Heleen Koster join the lab! As our lab technician, she will support lab organisation, stocking, ordering and research. 

We are very excited to have Nicha join as the first student of the Syrjänen lab! During her 8 week project, Nicha will be diving into molecular cloning techniques, protein expression and purification.

The structural biology platform FINStruct and Instruct-ERIC Centre Finland 2024 Annual Meeting was held at the University of Oulu. 

Johanna is absolutely thrilled to be awarded an Academy Research Fellowship from the Research Council of Finland.
